Most people think stabilization on a wide angle lens is useless , people will consider the focal length (angle of view) , aperture , shape of aperture star . Actually at new camera these days you got higher pixel density and the “focal length to shutter speed" shutter speed barrier are not too safe now , especially when a person tired you need higher shutter speed to achieve a goo still shot. Of course , if your target was moving you still need certain shutter speed to hold it still.
Honestly a wide angle with stabilization may help to do hand held shot tho ,  why not ?

At this article we do a quick review of Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II VC HLD , here is some boring tech stuff :
Di II means it designed for apsc , image circle only cover APSC cmos (in my opinion , you still able to put it on full frame camera because the mount are same ,got some black corner )
VC : Vibration Compensation ( they said this is new mini VC unit , got 4 stop stabilization )
HLD: High/Low torque-modulated Drive ( something like canon STM , a mini motor , silent with good torque , But tamron come with FTM and it was not focus overwire)

Tamron 10-24 you can achieve 15mm angle of view in 135 format (135 format equivalent:  for Canon 16-38.4mm , Nikon 15-36mm)
and there was a few viral on the market :
Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM (or the older EFS 10-22)
Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX II AF 11-16mm f/2.8 ( i like this one too , it got fast aperture F2.8 through the whole zoom range)

The “no one cares " user manual and the “use with" hood (well seems no one read the user manual , just like me )

Compare to the existing  Tamron SP AF10-24mm F/3.5-4.5 DiII LD Aspherical [IF] (B001) , the new one come with a 4 stop Vibration Compensation , And it was the first lens come with  HLD (High/Low torque-modulated Drive) motor , it was silent during operation and able to achieve fast focusing speed, and the lens also support FTM full time manual focus , which also wasnt focus overwire design .  This lens also got a new optical design , 16 elements in 11 group , come with one LD (Low Dispersion) lens element, one XLD glass element, one molded glass aspherical element, and one hybrid aspherical lens ( OK you don’t need to know what are those lens , it was element used to decrease Dispersion also correcting the path of the light go through the glass , although it may affect to the out of focus bokeh sometimes) .

Similar to Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM , at the middle of the zoom range it was at the shortest position

It got a metal mount , with weather sealing gasket

And it will go to the smallest position at 15mm
